Kathmandu: The Everest Nepal Cultural Group (ENCG) has returned to Nepal after proudly representing the country’s rich cultural heritage at the 38th International Children’s Cultural Festival held in Saint-Maixent, France.
Led by the organization’s founder and president, Dr. R.C. Koirala “Ramchandra,” the delegation presented a vibrant display of Nepal’s traditional arts and culture, earning appreciation from the international audience.
The cultural team included students from Bagmati Boarding Higher Secondary School, Sukedhara, under the coordination of lecturer Shyam Dutta Adhikari. Other members included Sujita Kafle Udas, vice principal of Laligurans National Academy and an ENCG member, along with students Surabhi Aryal, Kashish Bhattarai, Sadichha Mahat, Aahana Karki, Shrutirani Giri, Shubhanjali Sapkota, Shubham Samrat Ghale, Aadhya Adhikari, Aarnabi Gautam, Sampada Oli, Ayush Mishra, Samriddhi Paudyal, Ayusha Mishra, and Sambandha Siwakoti.
During the festival, the Nepali delegation performed a variety of traditional dances, including Maruni, Kaura, Garra, Yeti, Kumari, Jhyāure, and Thali Dance, highlighting Nepal’s diverse cultural traditions. The performances were choreographed by Sapana Maharjan.
The entire France tour was coordinated by Sital Acharya, Director of the Everest Nepal Cultural Group. Besides cultural performances, the participating students visited several educational institutions, engaging in academic and cultural exchange programs with their international counterparts.
Coordinator Shyam Dutta Adhikari said the experience would pave the way for stronger educational and cultural partnerships between schools in Nepal and France in the future.
Meanwhile, delegation leader Dr. R.C. Koirala held meetings with the local mayor, festival organizers, and other dignitaries to discuss opportunities for promoting Nepal’s cultural tourism. He also shared plans to further expand such international cultural exchange programs through collaboration with both government and non-government organizations.
The successful participation of the Everest Nepal Cultural Group is being viewed as another significant step in promoting Nepal’s cultural identity on the global stage.
