Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has held discussions with the heads of all security agencies as Genji youth leaders are increasing pressure on the government to arrest then fofmer Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and then former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

As pressure mounted to arrest Oli and Lekhak on charges of suppressing the Genji Youth Movement, Prime Minister Karki, along with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel, Home Secretary Rameshwor Dangal, Nepal Police Chief Chandrakuber Khapung, Armed Police Chief Raju Aryal, and National Investigation Department Chief Tekendra Karki.

The youths of the Genji movement had filed a complaint at the Kathmandu District Police Complex on Monday, demanding the arrest of Oli and the writer and an investigation. But the police refused to register the complaint.

Kathmandu Police Range Chief Ramesh Thapa informed Inspector General of Police Chandrakuber Khapung about this. Khapung then went to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal along with some senior officers.

According to sources, Home Minister Aryal had suggested that a complaint should be filed. However, police officials warned that the complaint filed against the former Prime Minister today could also be filed against Balen tomorrow, which would further escalate the situation.

“The Home Minister was in favor of registering a complaint, but the police officers were talking about what to do if a complaint is filed against the former Prime Minister today, or against Balen tomorrow.” “Then, it was decided to discuss the matter with the Prime Minister himself and reach a final decision,” the source said.
