Pokhara Metropolitan City has decided to provide scholarships to 497 students pursuing higher education. Scholarships will be offered to students in the fields of science, management, hotel management, law, humanities, and education. The metropolitan city will conduct examinations and arrange for successful students to study in schools for free.
Kathmandu. Pokhara Metropolitan City has provided scholarships to students pursuing higher education. A decision has been made to grant free scholarships to 497 students to study in the 11th grade in various subjects.
From the exam taken on Saturday, 162 students in the science subject, 201 in management, 80 in hotel management, and 14 in law, humanities, and education, a total of 497 underprivileged, poor, indigenous, dalit, and talented students have been arranged for free scholarships. The exam was evaluated using Optical Mark Recognition technology. The municipality conducts a selection exam every year. Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated that additional facilitation for free study will be provided by the municipality to the passing students in the designated schools.
‘This year’s scholarship selection examination has been made more organized, dignified, and reliable with the use of technology in the test,’ said Acharya, ‘The municipality will provide additional facilitation for the students who pass the examination to study for free in the designated schools.’
The municipality has appealed to the successful students to contact the Education Division by July 10 to proceed with the enrollment process. It is also mentioned that the schools concerned have been instructed to ensure mandatory enrollment for the students recommended by the municipality.
