Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force (APF), and Nepal Police have been mobilized to intensify rescue and relief operations following the flood in Rasuwa.
In a statement shared on social media, Prime Minister Shah said additional security personnel and manpower had also been dispatched to the affected areas from other districts.

He said the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has been activated, while rescue and relief efforts are being carried out in coordination with medical teams, Nepal Scouts, the Red Cross and other relevant agencies. Arrangements are also underway to send additional ambulances and medical personnel to the affected areas.

Prime Minister Shah said Chief District Officers (CDOs) have been instructed to immediately evacuate residents living in downstream areas at risk of flooding to safer locations. Local residents have also been alerted through SMS and phone calls to move to safety.

All available helicopters have been directed toward the affected areas for possible rescue and relief operations. Private helicopter companies have also been asked to keep their helicopters on standby, while some private helicopters have already been deployed to the affected areas, Shah said.

He further informed that a high-level meeting has been called to decide on the necessary next steps.
Prime Minister Shah urged everyone to remain in safe locations and, if they are unable to contact their relatives, to wait for official updates regarding rescue and relief operations from the concerned government agencies.
