Kathmandu: Filming has begun for ‘Kaleji – Unko Sweater’, the upcoming sequel to the popular Nepali film ‘Unko Sweater’, which was released last year. Director Naveen Chauhan has commenced filming in the Yumthang Valley of Sikkim, India.
Chauhan announced the start of filming, revealing that the production began after an auspicious ceremony featuring prayers and the chanting of mantras by local Buddhist lamas. According to the director, scenes featuring actors Piyush Mishra and Alex Paras were filmed on the first day of production.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tashi Chhiring Bhutia, chairman of the Sikkim Film Board; Sanjay Dilpali Rai, chairman of the Cultural Board; ADC officials; representatives of the Indian Army; and local Buddhist lamas. Chauhan expressed his gratitude for the support, cooperation, and blessings received on the occasion.
According to Chauhan, *Kaleji – Oonko Sweater* aims to expand the stories, characters, and emotions that audiences connected with in *Oonko Sweater*. The new film will further explore the stories of Kafle, Phool, Dambar, and Ikksha while presenting additional dimensions of love, life, and human emotions.
“Some stories remain untold, and some emotions are still waiting to be expressed,” Chauhan said.
The film is scheduled to be shot across Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Delhi. The production aims to expand the world of *Oonko Sweater*, taking its familiar characters and stories into new settings.
Produced by Artmandu, the film is written and directed by Naveen Chauhan. Abhishek Subedi serves as co-writer and chief assistant director, while Chintan Rajbhandari is responsible for cinematography. The film’s music will be composed by Kobid Bajra.
The cast includes Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Piyush Mishra, Alex Paras, Pariksha Limbu, Teriya Magar, Suraj Tamu, Sharda Devi Silwal, Bhuvan Singh Rai, Rushma Rai, and others.
Continuing the emotional world established by *Oonko Sweater* while introducing new stories and experiences, *Kaleji – Oonko Sweater* is being prepared for release. However, the film’s release date has not yet been announced.
