Kathmandu. The ‘Fifth Indigenous Peoples Film Festival 2082’ is scheduled to be held from Ashad 20 to 21. Information about the festival was given at a press conference on Monday. Indigenous films will be rewarded and encouraged by the festival. Additionally, 19 indigenous films will be screened at the festival. Three are Norwegian, one is Taiwanese, and sixteen are Nepali.
In which “Che” in limbu language directed by Sagar Kerung, “Nachune” directed by Nabinbabu Gurung, “Sinking Civilization of Kathmandu Valley” in Newari language directed by Om Charan Amatya, “Sakipya” in Newari language directed by Luj Singh, “Mi-tho” in Gurung language directed by Raj Bahadur Gurung, “Tangchalak in Magar language directed by Mek Bahadur Pun, “Khil” in Magar language directed by Biswas Magar are included.
Similarly, “Magar Chinari” directed by Kamal Ekchai Magar, “Shma Pinwa” in Tamang Language directed by Sanchu Thokar, “Gyalbo Raja” in Tamang language directed by Binayak Tamang, “Jitiya ke Sanes” in Tharu language by Renu Chaudhary, “Gam Ghar” in Rajbanshi language directed by Dip Narayan Rajbanshi, “Sairav Ta” in Gurung language by Ratna Gurung, “Jyuni” in Gurung language by Janak Gurung, “Cho Vo Lyam Yonho Sammukh Karma” in Bhujel language directed by Hilari Vandhu Bhujel are to be shown.
The festival will award films in 8 categories including best film, director, screenplay, cinematography, short film, documentary, public choice, and jury encouragement. The festival will also feature four documentaries by the National Foundation for the Upliftment of Indigenous Peoples, the organizers have said. The festival will be organized by the Indigenous Film Federation.
