Two seasons of the year, with five months in total, are particularly suitable for trekking: March, April, May, and October, November.
First of all, you need to understand the destination and geographical conditions. After this, you need to prepare clothes according to the place. Many people rush to get dressed without understanding this. Similarly, they pack their bags. Doing this makes it difficult to walk and the bag also becomes heavy.
Before going trekking, you should pack the necessary materials as much as possible. For this, it is best to make a list of things so that no items are left out or duplicated.
Since you have to carry a bag while walking, you should only carry the essentials. The lighter the bag, the more comfortable it is to walk.
You should also wear layers of clothing. You should wear clothes that absorb sweat when walking uphill and downhill. When trekking in this season, you should wear a thermal set that fits tightly to the body and does not allow air to pass through.
If you are going to reach high altitudes, you should wear a down jacket and a slightly thicker windproof jacket. If you are going to reach the base camp of the mountains, you will need even warmer clothes. This includes feather jackets that can be worn down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
When trekking, you should wear light-colored clothing as much as possible. This can help you avoid accidents, even if you are at risk.
Depending on the altitude and weather, you should wear waterproof gloves. Along with this, you should carry a scarf around your neck to keep the wind out. A hat is mandatory. You should carry glasses for eye protection while trekking.
Similarly, another important item for trekking is a trekking stick (pole). It helps in walking. This pole can be made long or short according to the path. Generally, the pole does not need to be made long on the uphill path. It should be made long on the downhill path.
Trekking sticks are available in the market starting at Rs. 400. However, sticks priced above Rs. 1,000 are good and can be used for the next trekking.
Another thing to pay attention to while trekking is shoes. Since you have to walk in mountains, forests, rivers, etc., when buying shoes, you should choose ones with grip on the sole. It should be non-slip. Now, Nepali brands are also producing shoes for trekking on a low budget.

The price of these shoes starts from three to four thousand rupees.
Similarly, for walking on unpaved roads and snow, you should also carry ‘crampans’ that are worn on the soles of your shoes. These are like small metal chains with spikes that are shaped like nails to prevent slipping. Similarly, you should wear comfortable and comfortable trekking socks while walking.
While trekking, you may not get food or a hotel. For such occasions, you should carry dry fruits. Trekking bars containing various types of food are also available in the market. These include nuts, chocolate, cashews, and other snacks.
There are different types of bags available in the market for packing luggage. Generally, if you are going to a destination for more than 10 days, you should carry a 60-liter bag. Similarly, 50-liter bags are suitable for 7 days, 45-liter and 40-liter bags for 5 days.
While trekking long distances, you should be aware of health issues. If you are going to the Himalayan region, you may get sick. You should carry the necessary medicine for this. After reaching 2,500 meters above sea level, you should only climb a maximum of 400 meters per day.
Buying all these items for trekking can cost at least 15,000 rupees.
Since you will be walking to your destination, it is advisable to make a schedule. Generally, you should start walking from 7 am. You should reach your destination by 3 pm. In the meantime, you should drink at least four liters of water daily. Many people experience health problems while trekking due to not drinking water on time. Therefore, one should drink water and soup regularly. This benefits the body and also adds energy to the walk.
