Los Angeles: Hollywood star Jonathan Bailey has been named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ of 2025 by the prestigious People magazine.
The selection was announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He also became the first openly gay man to receive the title.
The 40th anniversary of the Sexiest Man Alive award is being celebrated in 2025. As actor Bailey sat down for his interview, Fallon also revealed two of Bailey’s covers.
One cover shows him sitting on a rocky beach. Another shows him shirtless, holding a fluffy dog.
Bailey said he heard he was called the sexiest man alive during a production of Shakespeare’s “Richard II” in early 2025.
The “People’s Sexiest Man Alive” feature has been published since 1985. The first person to be honored with this title was Mel Gibson.
The 2024 winner was John Krasinski. Other recent winners include Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, and John Legend.
Bailey gained international fame after playing the role of Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton, in the hit Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’.
Bailey has been praised for his versatility in acting, comedy, and music, and is considered a leading LGBTIQ activist in the entertainment industry.
