Folk singer Arjun Sapkota’s song ‘Jhaliko’ has garnered an impressive number of views in a short time.
The music video for the song, released last Tuesday evening, has been viewed 2 million times on YouTube as of Saturday afternoon. The song has also gone viral on platforms including TikTok and Reels.
Arjun, who was previously known for songs like ‘Pachyauri Lisio’, ‘Basayau Alakkai’, and ‘Dukh Satamla’, has become a hit in a short time. Many celebrities have also made reels and TikTok videos on the song.
Expressing happiness at receiving love through the song, Arjun said that it has given him more energy.
“We had worked hard on the song for a while. We expected people to like it,” he said, “but we didn’t expect it to be so popular in such a short time.”
He said that receiving good feedback from people in other fields, including film, not just music, has inspired him to bring out even better creations in the future.
Melina Rai and Samiksha Adhikari have lent their voices to this song along with Arjun. The lyrics are by Santosh Sapkota and the music is by Arjun himself. The song, which features a lyric by Krishna Reule, has been composed by HBN Kismat. The audience can also hear a poem recitation by Pradeep Rodan in the song.
‘Jhaliko’ is a romantic song that tells the story of a love couple. The video interestingly depicts the story of a lover returning from a foreign job and his girlfriend waiting for him in the village.
Although it is a love song, its video shows the tragic side of foreign employment. Arjun Sapkota and Kusum Bhandari’s acting and dancing can be seen in the video. Shivu Pandey, Rajendra Aryal, Santosh Sapkota, and others also act.
The video’s story is based on the idea of Deepa Sinkhara and Vishal Ghimire, while it is directed by Vishal. The video, which has choreography by Mukesh Nepali, is cinematographed by Buddha Thapa, and edited by Dinson Shah.
