Mountain rescue training comes to an end. 20 people attented.
Kathmandu. From June 6–13, 2025, the Nepal Mountain Rescue Training Course came to an end in Kathmandu. The Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA), Eurac Research Education and Training, the International Commission for Mountain Emergency Medicine (ICAR MedCom), and the Mountain Rescue Service of South Tyrol (BRD) worked together with the Eurac Research Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine to organize the training.
The Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen-South Tyrol, Italy, provided funding for the training. It sought to foster international collaboration in mountain rescue operations and improve the technical and practical abilities of Nepali medical personnel and mountain rescuers.
The training was attended by 20 people, including wilderness medicine physicians, Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) guides, Nepal Police Disaster Management Division staff, instructors from the Nepali Army’s High Altitude and Mountain School in Jomsom, and HRA employees. On June 13, the Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu hosted a ceremony for the distribution of certificates. As the chief guest, Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, presented certificates to the attendees.
