Kathmandu. Yubaraj Sharma has been elected as the president of the Higher Education and Secondary Schools Association of Nepal (HISAN). Sharma won by securing 160 votes from the ninth general convention held on Saturday.
Earlier, when Ramesh Silwal was the president, Sharma was the senior vice president, and Bhandari was the general secretary. Tankaraj Acharya and Swagat Shrestha have won the senior vice-presidential post. They were elected in a contest between 5 people.
Rajendra Adhikari, RB Adhikari, Rishi Tiwari, Dolraj Pandey, Dharanidhar Adhikari, Narendra Bahadur Adhikari, Mukunda Ghimire, Birendra Jayana Shrestha, Bishnu Raj Poudel, Suman Gopal Acharya, and Harindra Lamichhane were elected unopposed as vice presidents.
HISAN reported that Ramhari Silwal won the general secretary post with 148 votes. His opponent, Jayaram Khanal, received 118 votes.
Krishna Prasad Poudel, Jeevan Lama Gole, Paras Shrestha, Bhawani Prasad Poudel, Yam Bahadur Roka, Rojash Karki, and Balram Pant have won the secretary post.
Shiva Prasad Adhikari has been elected unopposed as the treasurer. Elections were also held for the post of member. There is a provision for a 67-member central committee of HISAN.
