The Bhaktapur District Court has sentenced two people, including Ashika Tamang, to five days in prison.
District Court Information Officer Hira Kumari Bhandari informed that a bench of Judge Bishwanath Bhattarai sentenced two people, including Tamang, to five days in prison.
Along with Tamang, another defendant, Sharan Thiruwa, was also found guilty of criminal mischief.
There were allegations that Ashika and others obstructed the collection of funds for the suspension bridge built by Suryabinayak Municipality in Sanga and tore up the notice posted by the local municipality.
In the same matter, Suryabinayak Municipality had filed a complaint with the police alleging criminal harassment.
In that case, Ashika Tamang and Sharan Thiruwa were sentenced to five days in prison each.
Similarly, a fine of Rs 500 has been imposed, the victim has been ordered to pay Rs 8,300 in compensation to the victim, and Rs 200 to the victim relief fund.
Ashika Tamang felt guilty about the incident at the Sanga suspension bridge, even with the police, government prosecutors, and the court.
