Kathmandu. The police arrested the leaders and workers of the Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, who protested against the increase in fees for engineering education. The Institute of Engineering Studies has increased the undergraduate fee from Rs 338,000 to Rs 775,000.
Against this backdrop, the president of the Nepal Students Union Pulchok campus unit is on hunger strike. The students of the Navy Association protested outside the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, on Monday, demanding the return of the fee hike and the protection of the life of hunger strike student Sulabh Chapagai.
