Speaking at the release ceremony, chief guest Narayan Rayamaji expressed happiness over the release of original songs at a time when flashy songs are gaining attention during the Teej festival. He said, ‘No single person or organization can eliminate the distortion in the music industry alone. Each artist must self-censor themselves for that.’
The prominent guest, popular singer Pashupati Sharma, stated that today’s wives should not be limited to the home. He emphasized that husbands should also encourage their wives to build their careers by understanding their desires. Singer Badri Pangeni noted that the distortions seen in music could tarnish the music industry, and he has felt the need for censorship in music just as in films for a long time. He praised the creative ability of Kavita Aryal, congratulating her on the release of her original song.
Singer Pangeni said, ‘The lyrics of the song encompass the entire essence and originality of Teej. Moreover, the director has successfully portrayed the emotions of the song through the video.’ National Folk Journalist Nepal’s founding president Govinda Giri discussed the challenges faced by the organization since its inception and its current activities. He expressed the view that as songs have become more commercially oriented recently, it has led to distortions that the creators themselves need to censor.
Similarly, the director of the public song, Shankar Bisi, mentioned that enhancing originality in the song is the responsibility of not just any organization but everyone. Lyricist and composer Ramesh Pariyar expressed his happiness in being able to connect with this team through the original song he created.
Similarly, singer Kavita Aryal, speaking about her new song, stated that she always focuses on originality when releasing her creations. She mentioned that being involved in the fields of folk and culture and successfully creating her own unique space in the media sector is a great opportunity to release her song under the organization of Nepal’s National Folk Media. She expressed her gratitude to singer Badri Pangeni for helping her fulfill her desire to become an artist by introducing her to the artistic field.
Addressing the program, the chairman of the organizing institution, Chandramani Gautam, stated that previously, the pain of daughters was reflected in the Tihar songs, but now, there is a trend of labeling silly and absurd songs as Tihar songs, urging creators not to engage in such practices. He expressed that he and his organization cannot remain silent when songs that damage the original art and culture are made public. Chairman Gautam shared the challenge of reaching out to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Cyber Bureau for the protection and promotion of original music.
