The International Cricket Council (ICC) has entrusted Nepal with the responsibility of hosting the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 qualifying tournament.

Kathmandu. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has entrusted Nepal with the responsibility of hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 qualifying tournament. This tournament will take place in Nepal from January 12 to February 2, 2026. A total of 10 teams will compete in this qualifying tournament. The top four teams from the qualifying tournament will secure their places in the main World Cup to be held in England and Wales in 2026.

Based on their participation in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, Bangladesh and Ireland automatically secured their spots in the qualifying tournament. Similarly, Thailand from the Asian region and Nepal as the host were selected. From the Americas region, the United States secured its place. The remaining five spots will be filled by two teams each from Africa and Europe and one team from the East Asia-Pacific region, each winning their respective regional qualifiers.

In the competition held in Nepal, 10 teams will be divided into two groups of five teams each. After the group stage, there will be the Super Six and the final match. The detailed schedule of the competition will be announced by the ICC later.

The schedule for the main ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales in 2026 has also been released. This prestigious tournament will take place from June 12 to July 5, 2026. The final of the tournament will be held at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
