London, UK: A special charity musical event dedicated to promoting Nepali art, culture, and music was successfully held at St Oswald’s Church in Sutton, UK. The event raised Rs. 100,000, which was donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund in Nepal, according to the organizers.

The event featured renowned flutist Dhan Bahadur Gurung, along with tabla player Resham Pache, madal player Min Gurung, sarangi player Kerjung Gurung, and flutists Rafi Shrestha, Padam Acharya, and Khupendra Gurung. Their performances, featuring traditional Nepali musical instruments and melodies, entertained the audience while connecting them with Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.

The programme was jointly inaugurated by Usha Baskota, President of the Croydon Nepali Society, and Rafi Shrestha, the event’s chief coordinator, by lighting ceremonial candles. The programme was hosted by tabla player Resham Pache.

The charity event was organized with the dual objectives of promoting Nepali music and culture and supporting humanitarian causes. The organizers confirmed that Rs. 100,000 collected through the event had been sent to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund in Nepal.

Chief coordinators Rafi Shrestha and Padam Acharya expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all individuals, organizations, artists, audience members, and well-wishers who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of the programme. They stated that the event was made possible through the collective support, participation, and goodwill of the Nepali community.

The organizers also extended special appreciation to sound engineer Hemraj Bista for his contribution to sound management and photographer and videographer Kushal Shrestha for capturing and documenting the memorable moments of the event through photographs and videos.

The event brought together Nepali music, cultural heritage, and social service on a single platform, strengthening the spirit of unity, mutual support, and cultural solidarity among the Nepali community in the UK.
