Janakpurdham. The Quality and Metrology Office located here has provided new measuring instruments and licenses to 881 commercial and industrial establishments in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.
Action has been taken against 1,872 businessmen who used weighing and measuring devices without obtaining a license. They had used scales and ‘digital’ weighing devices without permission. They have been brought under the purview of the law after taking action, said Sunil Yadav, head of the office.
He informed us that the metering devices of 2,372 businessmen have been checked in ten months and information has been provided regarding the use of metering devices, metering fines, and legal action in Sarlahi, Mahottari, and Ramechhap. During that period, Rs 4,112,840 in revenue has been collected, he said.
