Kathmandu, June 18. Chinese officials have warned Nepali officials of the possibility of “heavy rain” in the border area with Nepal and have asked them to be on alert.

Based on the information, the District Administration Offices of Sindhupalchowk and Kavre have taken precautions.

The Sindhupalchowk administration has issued a press release requesting the residents of the district to be vigilant until Ashad 7. In the notice issued by the Sindhupalchowk administration, residents of six municipalities around the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi rivers have been asked to be vigilant as there is a possibility of ‘excessive rainfall’ in the Tibetan region.

‘As there may be a risk in the areas around the Bhotekoshi/Sunkoshi rivers of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Bahrabise Municipality, Tripurasundari Rural Municipality, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, Balefi Rural Municipality and Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality, we request the residents living in the river areas to be vigilant,’ reads the notice issued today by Assistant Chief District Officer Ganesh Nepali.
