Kathmandu. Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki has taken the oath. She took the oath from President Ram Chandra Poudel at a special ceremony held at the Shet Niwas.

She has also created history as the first female Prime Minister of Nepal. Appointed last week on the strength of the youth generation (Gen-G) movement, she has recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives with two and a half terms remaining.

This is a rare event in the country’s history when a newly formed government dissolves the elected parliament from its first cabinet meeting.
