Kathmandu. The meeting of the House of Representatives called on Monday has been adjourned. The main opposition party, CPN-UML has been demanding a high-level investigation committee regarding the issue of a quintal of gold that was released from the Tribhuvan airport customs office. The ruling party is not ready for this.
Earlier, in the meeting called on July 10, UML blocked the meeting by demanding a high-level investigation committee. Sources in the Speaker’s Secretariat said that after the UML took the same stand on Monday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting of the House of Representatives until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the request of the government. Earlier on Monday morning, top leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and Maoist Center sat in a discussion on opening the Parliament.
